Bridal Magazine Ad!

Wow how exciting! My make-up and hair work has been featured for Alexis George Bridal wear in Adelaide, Australia. Using the beautiful Sam Nelemans as our model, my partner Alexander Beer (www.alexanderbeer
photography.com) photographed her in three different stunning gowns and I changed the look of the hair and make-up for each shot. I wanted to create three alternative bridal make-up looks that would be options for my clients.
This was a very 'Grecian' style dress so I kept the styling of the hair very free and flowing. I curled Sam's hair extensions and her natural hair together using a wand (Jose Eber) and then placed a beautiful silver plaited band around her head. Then I took a few strands and wove them back and through the band. The make-up was natural and soft but with a little more colour on the eyes. I used some lash extensions just on the outer corners to enhance the natural shape and sexiness of Sam's eyes. I also used a natural, matte lip colour to maintain the Grecian goddess style, natural beauty look we were going for here. The first look and third look from the shoot will be on here soon so look out for the shots and of course the videos!
PS we are now back in London, UK.

Bridal Eyelashes

So, eyelashes are the way to look flirtier and sexier and for your eyes to look so enhanced but nowadays you don't have to look fake and 'OTT'.
I loved this bridal shot as the false eyelashes used are just on the corners and give the eyes an upward slant and almost have an Audrey Hepburn feel to them. Notice how the rest of the make up is very understated. Soft golden eyeshadow, liner only on the top of the eye lids, creamy blush and pale, neutral lips. This is the kind of bridal look that will never date. It will always look like you had a healthy glow and keeps the face looking fresh, youthful and clean.
I will be trying out different lashes on my trials to achieve dramatically different looks and will be working on matching the shape of the eye to the right lashes for optimum effect on the day!

Bridal make-up for Jenny

This is a shot of one of my brides I worked with on her big day. This was taken after the ceremony and the dinner....I was really pleased at how the make-up and hair had lasted and here is what Jenny had to say,

"Suffering from acne had really knocked my self-esteem but after much discussion about the look I wanted and perfecting it at the trial, Ruth surpassed my expectations on the big day. Her beauty expertise made me look and feel so glamorous that my confidence went through the roof and made the day even more perfect. I can’t thank her enough.”

So we worked together to get just the right look for Jenny. She didn't want to look to over done and unlike her natural self so we decided to enhance her eyes and lips with natural, muted tones rather than excess colour. She had been concerned about her skin leading up to the day and so I ensured that she felt confident having covered successfully any acne, blemishes and marks without the make-up looking heavy or caked. I then used pinky tones on her apples of her cheeks so Jenny looked flushed with a healthy glow.

She looked beautiful.

My Bridal Work...

Hope you like them...x

Brides....

I love brides. The way that the woman of the day has an underlying strength and composure that shines through while inside they are tingling with excitement and butterflies are fluttering in their tummies...The most special and important day of their lives...The day that most women have dreamed of since they were little girls and the day that they will never forget....

Welcome to my collection of make-up (and hair) that I have created 'bridal-style' and can reproduce for you on your big day. The way I work is to look at your ideas and clippings (if you have them) of how you want your look to be and then come up with THE perfectly designed make-up look for you and your individual beauty.

And, if you have no idea about where to start or don't usually wear make-up, we can work together with the theme of your wedding and the look and style of your dress to create the perfect make-up for your big day.
